Thursday 28 May 2020: The temporary derogation from certain rules concerning the driving and resting times for drivers of commercial vehicles will, as previously advised, expire on 31 May. From 1 June 2020, operators and drivers must comply with the normal rules applicable to driving and resting times for drivers of commercial vehicles.
The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the RSA will maintain contacts with the road haulage representative associations and will continue to monitor on-going developments relating to any further exceptional measures that may be required in respect of the EU drivers’ hours rules in light of the pandemic.
