Glandore co-working space gives platform to inspiring women in business through Hear from Her event series in bid to raise funds for Irish Youth Foundation

Thursday 20th February: At a time when equality in the workplace and female empowerment in business are more prevalent than ever, Glandore, Ireland’s leading serviced office and flexible workspace provider, will commence their timely Hear from Her 2020 series on March 11th,2020.  The first of the three events will take place at Cork’s Glandore HQ based at Lapps Quay in the city centre and will focus on the topic of how to ‘Future Proof Our Women’.  The subsequent events will take place in May at Suesey Street Restaurant, Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2 and in November at Belfast’s Glandore on 41 Arthur Street.

The overall series of events will provide a platform for Irish women to delve into the intricacies of life’s professional challenges, touching on issues such as returning to work, competing for career roles and mentoring your peers. There will also be an important discourse on maternity leave and moving up the career ladder. Each event will aptly benefit their charitable partner, The Irish Youth Foundation, representing Glandore’s investment into the next generation of Irish businesswomen.

The ever passionate and inspiring actress and comedian, Norma Sheahan, will MC the Hear from Her Cork and Dublin events and coordinate discussion among panellists and guests in attendance.

“I was born and raised in Cork and I am living Dublin, so I am thrilled to be the MC for both of these Hear from Her events. This is an important opportunity to not only inspire the dedicated women of tomorrow but also be a part of the development of our future businesswomen through The Irish Youth Foundation. I am very much looking forward to the discussion among these inspirational guests and speakers,” said Norma Sheahan.

Some of Ireland’s most influential and high-profile professionals will also play a large role in the event series, with special guest speakers from corporate, academic, recruitment and sporting backgrounds gearing up to share their own personal experience and success stories.

The topical event will also feature discussion sessions on  how women are changing the game in STEM, the importance of empowerment and equality within in the workplace and how we can future-proof careers for women in this country, those currently in the workforce and those that are still in education but with grand aspirations for success.

Female empowerment is embedded in the very spirit of Glandore, trickling down from the top level of the company, which is spearheaded by a trio of driven and enthusiastic sisters – Fiona, Clare and Rebecca Kelly. The Kelly sisters believe that a platform such as Hear from Her, which highlights issues faced by women in the workplace, is not only essential to influencing continued progression, but crucial to the evolution of their own business.

“At Glandore, we are inherently aware of how important it is to shine a spotlight on female-focused issues within the professional world. We believe that through learning from our fellow women in business and inviting them to share their stories, we can provide a catalyst for positive change. That was the inspiration behind Hear from Her, and we can’t wait to see our vision come to fruition. We’re delighted to welcome such inspiring names to the bill and look forward to hearing their insights”, said Fiona Kelly.

The first of the inspiring panellists for the Cork event were announced today and will be Ciara Byrne, Managing Director of global privacy and data intelligence software solutions company Beacon AI and Karen O Reilly, Founder of EmployMum; a platform to help people find flexible work in Ireland and assist employers with their flexible work strategy.  Additional speakers for the Cork event on March 11th will be announced on Eventbrite and on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn @GlandoreNetwork #HearFromHer
