- Broadband winners: Vodafone takes home four awards, and is named Ireland’s Best Broadband Provider – Sky picks up three awards.
- Mobile winners: Virgin Mobile, GoMo and 48 all tie with two awards each with Virgin Mobile winning the top title of Best Mobile Phone Operator.
- Independent consumer research and a judging panel of experts and journalists in the fields of TV and technology determined the results.
The winners of the Switcher.ie Awards 2021 have just been announced with Vodafone being crowned Ireland’s Best Broadband Provider and Virgin Mobile taking the title of Best Mobile Phone Operator.
The awards, which are in their eighth year, were the first of their kind in Ireland. They help to give recognition to those leading Irish telecoms providers who offer outstanding products and services to customers. Unfortunately, due to the incredibly challenging circumstances of the past year, the annual awards ceremony could not go ahead, but in its place Switcher.ie partnered with Focus Ireland to provide 3,000 meals to the homeless.
Vodafone took a total of four awards – the most of any provider – and was titled the Best Value Broadband Provider as well as winning the coveted Best Broadband Provider award for the third year in a row. Sky scooped up three awards in total coming away with the title of TV Provider of the Year and the awards for Best TV Content and Best Broadband Bundle.
In the mobile categories, each of the winners walked away with two awards each. Virgin Mobile won the awards for overall Best Mobile Phone Operator and Best Customer Service. GoMo and 48 also took home two mobile awards each, with GoMo winning Best Value Mobile Operator and Best SIM-Only Bill Pay Plan and 48 taking the awards for Best Mobile Operator for Data and Best Sim-Only Pay As You Go Plan.
