A report into the impact the Irish whiskey industry has had on the Irish economy over the last 10 years is to be launched this Friday, 4th December by Drinks Ireland|Irish Whiskey.
The report, ‘Irish Whiskey 2010-2020: The restoration of the Irish whiskey industry across our shared island’, will be officially launched by Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe TD online at 9.30am.
The report will delve into the industry’s impact on investment, employment and value-added to the island’s shared economy. Key figures will include the growth in the number of Irish whiskey distilleries in the island of Ireland, global sales for the decade, and the aggregate value of Irish whiskey exports from the island of Ireland.
Commenting ahead of the report launch, William Lavelle, Head of Drinks Ireland|Irish Whiskey, said: “The report will demonstrate the remarkable revival of one of Ireland’s oldest industries over the past 10 years, the impressive impact our industry has had on the economy, and the opportunities ahead. While acknowledging the difficult year that 2020 has been for our industry, the report will highlight the resilience of Irish whiskey as we look to expand our successes into the future.”
