13 JANUARY 2021: A €2 million state-of-the-art Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinic in Limerick has opened its doors this week. The new multi-million-euro Limerick clinic is part of a total investment of over €5million in five Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinics nationwide and is the third clinic to open.
In the past year laya healthcare has opened the doors to its clinics in Dublin and Galway and there are two further facilities earmarked to open over the next two years. The new Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinic in Limerick is located at the former Ivan’s Bakery in Caherdavin and has created 20 new jobs.
Speaking on the investment in Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinics, John McCall, Director of Claims and Provider Relations at laya healthcare said: “The need for easy-to-access and immediate treatment and care in a safe environment has never been greater, and Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinics provide consultant-led care for minor injuries and illnesses as well as a comprehensive breadth of wellbeing services. The network of Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinics serve a key part of our strategy to help take healthcare out of the acute setting, where appropriate, and to deliver rapid urgent care that improves patient outcomes and gives our 600,000+ members access to wellbeing services that empower them to look after their health proactively”.
The Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinics are openfrom 10am – 10pm, 365 days a year, and are accessible to patients as young as 12 months both laya healthcare members and non-members — for urgent care needs with all patients seen within one hour. Currently, walk-in access is reserved for minor injuries, such as sprains, insects and animal bites, fractures, minor head injuries and minor burns. For minor illness, a video consultation, or a face-to-face consultation will be arranged on an appointment basis only. Wellbeing services such as Heartbeat Cardiac Screenings (available to members aged 12 and over) and personalised health and fitness Healthcoach consultations (available to members aged 16 and over) will also be available at the clinic in the coming months, exclusively available for laya healthcare members.
