Newcastle-headquartered SME, Crebisol, is investing over £560,000 in its business and creating 10 jobs to enable it to meet the increasing demand for its cleaning, sanitising and disinfection product.

The biocidal cleaning solutions company has achieved various independent certifications for its product, which kills 99.999999% of harmful bacteria and other pathogens, to be used in various settings including healthcare, law enforcement and travel & transport.

Sean Kelly, Managing Director and owner of Crebisol said: “Throughout the current pandemic, we have experienced a surge in demand for our all-in-one disinfectant and cleaning solution, which is certified to prevent Coronavirus, MRSA, Superbug, Norovirus and other infectious diseases. We have now developed a strategic business plan to build on this.

“Invest Northern Ireland has been a great source of business knowledge from the beginning, and we would not be able to capitalise on these new opportunities as quickly without its support. By growing our team, we will be able to secure and deliver upon new orders with frontline industries such as healthcare both locally and in ROI and GB. We are also beginning to develop our distribution channels in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and target additional industries such as health & fitness and hospitality among others, to significantly increase our global market presence.”

Along with offering Crebisol strategic business advice, Invest NI has supported the company to trademark its name and logo, helping to bring the brand to market. To further support the company’s growth, Invest NI is also offering £72,000 towards the creation of 10 jobs and support for a range of market development activities, including packaging design, and website and social media development.

Kevin Holland, Invest NI CEO said: “Despite the economic challenges brought by COVID-19, the pandemic has also brought new opportunities for innovative SMEs which we are eager to support. The support we have provided to Crebisol, including company trademarking and packaging design, has been extremely useful in preparing the business for the further growth opportunities it has identified.

“These new jobs are a great boost for the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area. We look forward to supporting Crebisol to grow its exports and achieve its ambitious global growth strategy.”

Recruitment is currently underway, with roles in the company’s Newcastle headquarters and Downpatrick bottling factory. Office staff are currently working from home when possible while strict social distancing measures are in place at the bottling facility.
