A Komatsu WA100 wheel loader – distributed in Ireland by McHale Plant Sales – was the machine of choice selected by tyre maker Michelin to showcase two new sizes of its multi-purpose, all-season CrossGrip tyres.
Developed for use on backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, telehandlers and small tractors, the new 440/80 R34 and 480/80 R34 CrossGrip fitments expand the range to 12 dimensions.
Offering high load capacity with a rubber formula designed for year-round use, their non-directional tread pattern delivers precision for the driver when manoeuvring, in forward or reverse gear. Their optimised tread pattern with multiple biting edges also delivers greater traction.
Launched in 2018, the tyres work well on a variety of surfaces and are especially effective on snow, ice and loose ground. Asymmetrical lateral blocks, with 196 tread blocks per wheel rotation, improve grip in winter conditions and improve driver comfort by reducing vibration.
Reinforced for added puncture resistance, with tread depth optimised to reduce plant damage during the growing season, they can be studded for ice usage.
