Ryanair Calls On The Government To Immediately Align Ireland’s “Green” List With The Eu’s Traffic Light System

Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline, today (Wed, 16 Sept) called on the Irish Government to scrap the 14-day quarantine for all EU countries that are classified as ‘Green’ or ‘Orange’ in the EU Commission’s traffic light system, to allow air travel for Irish citizens to resume immediately without any “North Korean” a 14-day quarantines.

According to the latest data on the ECDC website, all the EU countries listed below in ‘green’ and ‘orange’ do not require a 14-day quarantines and therefore the Irish Govt should scrap any restrictions to these destinations with immediate effect. This means that countries like Italy and Greece should remain on Ireland’s green list while UK, Portugal, Belgium and many can now be added so that Ireland can re-connect with Europe after 5 months of almost complete isolation.

A Ryanair Spokesperson said:

“We call on the Irish Govt to stop damaging air travel and immediately align Ireland’s green list with the EU Commission’s traffic light system, allowing countries like Italy and Greece to remain while others like UK, Poland, Portugal, Sweden or Belgium can be added NOW.

Irish aviation and tourism cannot afford any further delays or indecision by Eamon Ryan – he needs to bring Ireland into line with EU policy today or tomorrow, not in October”.
